Having problems logging on to the
SARL Members-only section, or to the SARL Forum, or the SA QSL system?
Here are a few pointers to
assist you.
The SARL Members-only web
site and the Forum are two separate systems, and each system has
its own user name / password.
The SA QSL system is open
to everyone: SARL Members automatically have access via their Member's
logon, while non-members need to obtain a password to use the system.
The SARL Members-only web
-
Your user name for the
Members-only web is your callsign, and the initial password is a
5-digit number which is automatically allocated by the SARL
administration. Access to these pages is dependent on you continuing
to be an SARL member. If you do not renew your membership at the end
of a year, within the grace period, then your access is removed and
the password is destroyed.
-
If you wish, you can also
set your own custom password in addition to the
allocated password above. This password may be any combination of
letters and digits, and you can make this a more "friendly" or
easier-to-remember password. To use this feature, first log on using
your callsign and existing password as above, and then go to
http://www.sarl.org.za/CustomPassword.asp to set up your own
personal password.
-
If you forget your password
you can retrieve this by using the Forgot your password?
link on the home page, or by going directly to this address:
http://www.sarl.org.za/login.asp and following the instructions.
Your password/s will be emailed to the address we have on file for
you.
The SARL Forum
-
The Forum is open to anyone,
and is not affected by whether you are an SARL Member or not.
-
To use the Forum you
need to first register. This is done by following the Register
here! link on the forum Login page. Enter your Callsign as
your User Name, and choose an appropriate Password. You
may use the same password as you use for the members-only web pages to
make it easier to remember.
-
Registration is a two-part
process. After submitting the Registration page you need to wait for
the Forum Administrator to approve your membership.
The SA QSL System
-
This system allows anyone to
log their contacts for purposes of qualifying for the SARL awards (Worked
All ZS, All Africa Award and the SARL Top
Band Certificate).
-
SARL Members are automatically
registered and simply need to sign in using their Member's password.
-
Non-members need to register
before using the system. This is necessary to ensure that only the
holder of the callsign is able to log QSOs on the system. To
register, click on Need to Register? on the main SA QSL
page and follow the instructions.
